AI8 Top 7: At the Movies

Standard

Next week’s theme for the Top 7 performances is Songs of the Cinema which covers many of the best songs there is. The James Bond movies might be a great source as well as movie musicals.  But there are pop songs that make it to the soundtrack of a certain movie because they just fit in.  If the contestants would be just wise in choosing their songs and make it their own, especially Lil and Anoop, they will definitely be considered for safety.  Quentin Tarantino will be their “mentor”.

As it is always been enjoyable for me to choose songs for the contestants to sing (as if! lols), I have hereunder listed my choices:

Adam Lambert
Come What May by Ewan McGregor (Moulin Rouge)
You Know My Name by Chris Cornell (Casino Royale)
Eye of a Tiger by Survivor (Rocky III)
Chariots of Fire by Vangelis (Chariots of Fire)
Fame by Irene Cara (Fame) – just a wish!

Allison Iraheta
Decode by Paramore (Twilight)
Bring Me To Life by Evanescence (Paul McCoy)
It Must Have Been Love by Roxette (Pretty Woman)

Kris Allen
The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack (Play Misty For Me) – I hope he’ll do an acoustic version; it will be another moment for Kris with this song
Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers (Ghost)
When You Say Nothing At All by Ronan Keating (Notting Hill)
Heaven by Bryan Adams (A Night In Heaven)
Imagine by John Lennon – acoustic version
Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do) by Christopher Cross (Arthur)
Lean On Me by Bill Withers

Matt Giraud
Everything I Do, I Do It For You by Bryan Adams (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves)
Into The West by Annie Lennox (Lord of the Rings: Return of the king)
How Can You Mend A Broken Heart by Al Green (Notting Hill)- with the piano, but he’s better off with the version of Michael Buble

Lil Rounds
I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston (The Bodyguard)
I Say A Little Prayer by Diana King (My Best Friend’s Wedding)
Diamonds Are Forever by Shirley Bassey (James Bond: Diamonds Are Forever) – I think Lil would rock with this song
My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion (Titanic)
Listen by Beyonce (Dreamgirls)
Out Here On My Own by Irene Cara

Anoop Desai
For Always by Lara Fabian (A.I.)
I Believe I Can Fly by R. Kelly (Space Jam)
Glory of Love by Peter Cetera (Karate Kid II)

Danny Gokey
I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith (Armageddon)
Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen (Queen)
Circle of Life by Elton John (Lion King)
Go The Distance by Michael Bolton (Hercules)
Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now) by Phil Collins (Against All Odds)

Anoop and Lil might be in danger of being voted out unless they have fantastic performances. Who might be in the pimp spot? I guess it would be Lil Rounds. She needs it for another week.
