iTunes included Idol songs and performances in its Top Songs listing only after the winner, Kris Allen, was crowned yesterday (though there were instances – glitch? or intentional? – when such listing included Idol studio recordings even when American Idol is still on).
Last night, I checked on the listing (aka popularity listing, or most downloaded song listing), it posted the following among the first 10 songs:
#4 Mad World – Adam Lambert
#5 Heartless – Kris Allen
#6 No Boundaries – Kris Allen
#9 Ain’t No Sunshine – Kris Allen
Among the top 100 listing, Adam has 10, Kris has 7 and Danny Gokey has 1 (You Are So Beautiful).
Now (10:30 PM Pacific Time), it looks like this -

After the 30th spot, Season 8 Idols have these numbers -

#35 Ain’t No Sunshine #2 – Kris Allen
#44 What’s Going On – Kris Allen
